Building Meaningful Connections Through Inclusive Community Programs
The best way to build confidence, independence, and the social well-being of a person living with a disability is through their community participation. Many disability support services in Australia are moving away from traditional group homes and day programs, instead pursuing a range of activities that promote skill acquisition, socialisation, and participation in community settings. As a result of these initiatives, participants experience greater well-being and greater personal development skills along with strengthened community social networks.
